It’s no secret that there’s an oversaturation both across Canada and in the United States when it comes to Real Estate Agents. From small towns to large cities, it’s normal for people to see advertisements and social media posts from many different agents on a regular basis. What are you doing to make yourself stand out?
Sure, you can pay loads of money for flashy bus benches and massive billboards. You can become a recognizable face with a reputation for being a hot-shot agent. You can pay the money for the flashy clothes, the well-coifed hair, the loud sports car.
The National Association of Realtors recently stated that 41% of sellers who used a real estate agent found their agents through a referral by friends or family, and 26% used the agent they previously worked with to buy or sell a home. Referrals and repeat business are a huge piece of the pie. Are you doing the right things to capitalize on these categories?
What is Pat Doing Differently?
Pat Love, Local Leader in North Vancouver has been with Parkbench for 4 years now, and has used it to completely transform how she manages her business. Previously working in a hair salon, Pat has depended on relationships and referrals for a long time. Being active in networking groups was a large part of how she grew that business. When she shifted into Real Estate, continuing to work in this way just made sense.
Getting started with Parkbench has been the perfect fit for Pat. Now, when she meets new people or connects in networking groups, she has something to discuss other than just market updates. In the video clip below, she mentioned an experience at a networking group that happened to have another Real Estate Agent. She shared her neighbourhood website with the group, and offered to interview and feature local professionals. She explained that giving back to her community was a big part of how she runs her business. The other Real Estate Agent was stumped once it was his turn. Putting his foot in his mouth, he didn’t have anywhere near the same differentiation as Pat.
